Talk Therapy
Prairie River Counseling offers traditional talk therapy in office using a variety of evidence-based modalities including CBT, EFT, DBT, IFS, Narrative counseling and more. Modality applied is based on client needs.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Becky is certified in EAGALA/EAP and works in partnership with equine specialists and equine during the therapeutic process. Session may include observing the equine, grooming them, the use of storytelling, and/or doing activities with the equine. No riding is involved.

Animal Assisted Therapy
Becky has two certified therapy dogs who work in office: Sihtric and Sugar. Many clients report feeling less anxious and having a sense of calm when with them. These two listen without judgement and enjoy receiving your attention while you process your feelings and experiences.

Eco Therapy
Becky has specialized training in eco-therapy, also known as nature-based therapy. Research studies have shown evidence that there are several benefits to being in nature including decrease in heart rate, cortisol, and an increase in dopamine and sense of calm.

Expressive Arts Therapy
Becky has specialized training in expressive arts which is the use of creative arts in the therapeutic process. Whether in office creating with pastels or outside painting on horses. There are many creative ways to explore yourself with the use of expressive arts.

EMDR
Becky has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which helps in the treatment of several disorders including PTSD. This modality works on reprocessing memories or negative beliefs in a safe way which results in creating newer and healthier neuropathways in the brain.

Couples Counseling
Becky is a certified in Gottman Couple’s Counseling and offers space for couples to learn healthy communication, trust, and boundaries while reestablishing meaning and purpose in the relationship.

Addictions Counseling
Becky is a certified international alcohol and drug counselor (IADC) and specializes in the treatment of co-occurring disorders. Evidence-based modalities such as MI and CBT are applied to the client’s recovery process.
